BIAS has announced a bundle containing v7.0 of its coveted mastering software Peak Pro and a host of powerful plug-ins.
Peak Pro 7 contains a new de-clipping tool for repairing audio files via advanced re-synthesis and spectral repair algorithms, and also a wide-band peak limiter. Peak Pro 7 is part of the new Peak Studio package which integrates editions of SoundSoap Pro 2 [a brand-new update from the first SoundSoap] and Master Perfection Suite — BIAS’s coveted restoration and mastering plug-ins respectively.
BIAS claims:
Peak Pro 7 the most comprehensive audio editing and processing application for Mac OS X in its class.
With Peak Pro 7 one receives enhanced tools for audio delivery, like support for Japanese CD-TEXT and DDP [Disc Description Protocol] which mean nothing to the average music producer but are important to professional mastering studios.
Other interesting snippets from the BIAS press release include:
Peak Studio provides … multi-track audio recording, multi-channel editing, mono/stereo/surround mixing, onboard signal processing, cross-fades featuring Bezier curves, independent volume envelopes, integration with Peak…
AudioBeef is particularly interested in:
SoundSaver — a utility for the analog archiving workflow. Whether transferring from analog tapes or vinyl LPs, it streamlines the process and produces professional results.
Peak Pro 7 and Peak Pro XT 7 will be available in Q4 2010 costing $599 and $1199 respectively through pro-audio stores and directly from BIAS. The Peak Studio bundle will be released in Q2 of 2011.
Anybody who buys new editions of Peak Pro 6 [$599] from 1 November 2010 onwards will get a free upgrade to Peak Studio when it becomes available, which should save a considerable amount of money [the price of Peak Studio currently remains unknown, but consider this: Peak Pro 7 costs $599 minus SoundSoap Pro 2 and Master Perfection Suite].
