The Future of DJing: Prototype Technology

Take a look through a touch-screen window into what could be the future of DJing:

New software Emulator is developed by Chilean Pablo Martin and allows one to run software such as Traktor Scratch, Ableton Live, Deckadance, Virtual DJ, Serato and so on via touch screen devices and custom layouts.

On the Emulator website this underground software can be bought for $49 basic or $75 with lifetime support and upgrades. There is no Apple version yet, but an iPad one is in development.

The touchscreen interface in the first video is called Token and was developed independently by a user of the Emulator software. According to the Emulator website it will be brought to the market.

Audio Beef is concerned with Emulator’s possible copyright issues, so we would urge caution before you buy it in case the developers it emulates try to halt its production.
